A recent field training day in Waldorf, MD covered servicing PTR balers and compactors. Attendees received hands on training, discussed common problems and solutions and had an opportunity to ask detailed questions about specific problems they encountered. Keeping an operations Balers and Compactors running is mission critical.


With service techs in all 50 states, PTR has done extensive training to ensure all service techs have the know how to get the job done on the first service call.


We also had a recent field training day for sales reps. The topic was how to properly perform a site survey. This is a key step in the process, as many variables are gathered to determine a solution for the client. From safety to efficiency, everything is covered. This ensures the sales reps get it right the first time – and makes everyone’s job a bit easier. Every location is different and every clients needs are different. This ensure a proper custom solution.

In this important role, the Mechanical Engineer reports directly to the Chief Engineer


PTR Baler & Compactor, headquartered in Philadelphia, is a world leader in the waste equipment industry. We manufacture and service vertical balers, self contained compactors and stationary compactors – all here in the USA. We’re looking to add a Mechanical Engineer to our growing team.


This role has specific key responsibilities. We’re always innovating here at PTR, so the Mechanical Engineer works on the engineering of both existing equipment modifications, in addition to the design of new equipment. As part of the PTR Team, they would also provide engineering support to sales, service and manufacturing departments internally.


Another important part of the job is analyzing project documents to determine total cost estimates, while having a good understanding of the processes involved in manufacturing and the ability to change the design to match production specs. A strong proficiency in 3-D modeling software is a must (Autodesk inventor, AutoCAD, etc) Also basic knowledge of drafting and best engineering design practices is required.


We would like someone with a minimum of three years of experience in the industrial equipment field. As with any successful team, superb communication skills are required. This is the perfect job for an engineer that has some experience and wants to be part of an innovative team with a “can do” attitude. Also, it’s a great job for someone that likes problem solving and trouble shooting. We’re always focused on improving our products and efficiency.
