Joe Bennett started working for PTR Baler & Compactor Co. in June 1997. He was hired to support our Information Technology Manager. His job required him to move at the speed of service and anyone who knew Joe, knows he prided himself on uptime! In his words, “Having worked as an IT Manager for most of my career, I understand the need for dependable systems. Systems are made up of people, hardware, software, and processes. The system is only as reliable as the weakest link in the chain. As Director of Service Operations here at PTR Baler & Compactor, I have focused on the system as a whole. The people are the core of our business, and the customer-focused culture reflects the values of our company. The quality machines that we build are the backbone of the system and provide our customers with years of dependable operation. The operational and analytics systems that we have developed over decades provide us with the visibility needed to satisfy our customers. The processes are the glue that ties everything together and allows us to deliver consistency throughout the product and services that we offer. ‘Moving at the speed of service’ has become a mantra for me. In the technology world we are used to uptime metrics measured in the 99.999% range and we build layers of redundancy to allow for this. Redundancy comes at a price and not every piece of equipment can have a redundant machine waiting for the primary machine to fail. Service must be prepared to move fast to get the machine operational again. There are logistical challenges, labor constraints, and many other facets to be considered to exceed your customers’ expectations. I have always loved a good challenge and look forward to improving our customers’ experience by meeting their individual needs.” Joe was part of the PTR Baler & Compactor family for over 26 years, starting as an Information Technology Manager and later becoming the Director of Service Operations. His gifts beyond his titles will be forever remembered and appreciated!
