The builders. The producers. The creators. The manufacturers.
Today is National Manufacturing Day, a day dedicated to “Inspiring the Next Generation of Manufacturers”.
Did you know that manufacturers contributed $2.38 trillion to the United States economy in the fourth quarter of last year? That’s up from $1.67 trillion in 2009, and that number only continues to grow. PTR is passionate about educating people, especially young students, about the importance of modern manufacturing to the U.S. economy and to their futures.
Manufacturing careers provide the opportunity for a generous salary and job security. The National Association of Manufacturers estimates that over the next 10 years, “4.6 million manufacturing jobs will likely be needed, and 2.4 million are expected to go unfilled due to the skills gap.”
It’s a fact- manufacturing drives innovation. Another staggering statistic from NAM is that manufacturers in the U.S. carry out about 64% of all private-sector research and development.
PTR supports and encourages students to explore opportunities in manufacturing careers in order to secure their own futures. Learn more here.
