After more than three decades of exceptional leadership and service, Mike Savage has announced his upcoming retirement of April 1. Mike’s career at PTR reflects a remarkable journey of leadership, commitment, and impact. He joined the organization in 1994 where he held several sales positions and successfully managed all national and distributor equipment accounts and helped expand PTR’s footprint across the country, further strengthening their market presence and driving sustained revenue growth.
In 2008, Mike stepped into the role of President & CEO, where he has led PTR for the past 18 years. Under his leadership, PTR has experienced significant growth, strengthened its industry reputation, and deepened its commitment to customers, distributors, and employees alike. His steady guidance through changing market conditions positioned PTR as a respected and reliable leader in the waste and recycling equipment industry.
Three years ago, during Komar’s acquisition of PTR, Mike’s leadership proved especially critical. He served as a steady and collaborative partner throughout the transaction and integration process, ensuring business continuity while supporting employees and customers through change. His transparency, professionalism, and long-term perspective helped create a strong foundation for the partnership between PTR and Komar, positioning the combined organization for continued success. His ability to balance legacy, culture, and forward momentum was instrumental during this pivotal chapter in the company’s history.
Beyond his executive leadership, Mike has been an active and influential voice within the broader industry. His service with the National Waste & Recycling Association, including his role as Former Chairman of the Suppliers Board and Member of the Board of Trustees, and his induction into the 2025 Hall of Fame Class reflect the high regard in which he is held by peers across the country.
Mike is also deeply committed to education and community service. A graduate of Villanova University, he has remained closely connected to his alma mater, currently serving as Capital Campaign Chair for the College of Professional Studies as part of the Espiritus Nova campaign. His dedication to leadership development is further reflected in his long-standing membership with Vistage 341 – Philadelphia Chapter.
Throughout his tenure, Mike has exemplified integrity, resilience, and a clear vision for the future. He has mentored countless colleagues, built lasting customer relationships, and cultivated a culture focused on performance, accountability, and partnership.
Please join us in congratulating Mike on an extraordinary career and wishing him the very best in his well-earned retirement. His legacy at PTR will endure, and we are grateful for the foundation he has built for the next chapter of the company’s success.
Mike, thank you for your leadership, your commitment, and the lasting impact you have made.
