Congratulations go out to Mike Savage our new President and CEO, and a fond farewell to Bob Riethmiller who retired at the close of 2007. Well that is to say, semi-retired; Bob could never leave his 4th generation family business. Bob will continue on as our Chairman of the Board. Bob began his retirement speech with friends and family looking on and ended walking the room shaking hands and exchanging best wishes with everyone.
Pictured to the right is Mike Savage, our new President/CEO, receiving a hug from former President Bob Riethmiller, our new Chairman of the Board, while Eric Riethmiller, our new Vice President of Sales, looks on. In a heartwarming ceremony, everyone got a chance to wish Bob well and enjoy a well earned retirement. Mike had this to say about Bob's retirement:
"Bob Riethmiller began his journey with Philadelphia Tramrail over 52 years ago. Our company and products were completely different; a radically different size and a company that was regional to the greater Philadelphia and tri-state area. Things would not stay that way for long.
Bob brought a vision combined with an intensity and drive seldom seen in business or in life. Those traits combined with a smile, great salesmanship and persistency drove Philadelphia Tramrail and PTR to national recognition and to heights not even imaginative when he took over the company in 1968."
To the left we see Bob Riethmiller receiving his award of merit for his dedication to our company for the numerous years he has spent making PTR as successful as it has become and mentoring Mike Savage for a very encouraging and bright future in the baler and compactor manufacturing and service industry. Mike had this to say about Bob, "Bob has created a legacy that will last for generations. He has been a tremendous mentor as well as a great role model for all of us."
To the left we have Eric Riethmiller and his wife enjoying the celebration as his father, Bob (pictured right with wife Ann), gracefully handed over the reigns of PTR to Mike Savage and began his new roll as Chairman of the Board.
